A partner and I were challenged to create an explainer video based on the obscure South Carolina law stating it is illegal to kiss a bearded man in public. We developed a whimsical fairytale animated short to present the information in an engaging and memorable way.
I wrote the full script, crafting the narrative in a whimsical fairytale style to align with the visual direction. I then produced the voiceover using an AI-generated narrator and incorporated background music to enhance the overall storytelling experience.
I supported my parter in establishing the primary illustration style and closely matching the established style while creating additional illustrated assets for the animation.
We divided the animation process evenly, with me leading the first two scenes and the final two, while my partner completed the three middle scenes. The completed project earned an Addy Award for its storytelling and execution.
